Asian Borrel Club - Board recruitment 2024/2025

Head of External Affairs

Responsibilities:

    - Communicating with all external parties.

    - Recruiting new partners and writing partnership agreements.

    - Maintaining relationships with all partners and making sure both sides abide by the agreement.

    - Leading and coordinating the External Affairs committee.

The head of External Affairs leads the External Affairs committee and is responsible for all the communication between ABC and third parties. The main focus is expanding the network of Asian Borrel Club by recruiting new potential partners and looking for possible collaborations with other organisations. As head of External Affairs, you want to get the most out of it for both ABC and its members and the potential partner. You will be involved in the whole process from approaching and negotiating with potential partners to writing, amending and signing the agreements with them. In addition, you are closely involved in the course of the partnership and the contact with the ABC partners.

My Experience

Being the head of External Affairs during this academic year, I have gained a lot of valuable experience and met many inspiring people. Working together with the board, my committee and third parties has led to a lot of diversity in my work, which is something I really enjoy.

It is a good complement to practice next to my theoretical Bachelor of Laws. Furthermore, I also got to work on my soft skills, like managing, negotiating, and communicating effectively. In addition to all the work-related activities, some ABC people also slowly became my friends, for example with my committee members. Together we do ABC work, but also fun activities and study sessions.

All in all, I’m very grateful that I had the opportunity to join this adventure. - Dion Xu (22/23)
